VENUE: XI YAN private dining
38 A CRAIG ROAD
DATE: Weds 19th October 2005
CHALLENGE:
BAROLO
versus
BARBARESCO
Set up by HongKong gourmets, this is a private dining restaurant which specialises in Chinese fusion food. The basic cuisine is SzeChuan, but it is fused with influences from Thailand and Vietnam.
We will be treated to Degustation Menu of 13 of their signature dishes and the net price is $80 per person.
It promises to be a very exciting Challenge, and our very first Coterie with Asian food.
Ganesh and myself have decided that there will be a white Nebbiolo wine served as Aperitif, but it will not compete. For the competition, there will be five wines from each region, making a total of 10 Red wines to be savoured and judged.
